Introduction to the A2 Coursework Module
The mark scheme for this module is here.
Here is a link to another school's site which has sample coursework on.
Here is coursework that received 99%. Use this as a guide but do not copy!
The A2 coursework involves creating a database for an organisation of your choice. If two students choose the
same organisation, their work should be very different.
Click here to read what WJEC has to say about your choice of project.
Organisations which students have chosen in the past have been:
- A paintballing organisation
- A function room
- A bed and breakfast
- Limo hire
- Holiday home hire
- Entertainer/magician hire
- Golf lessons
- Driving lessons
- Bouncy castle hire
- A hair or beauty salon
- A local school (you would have to base it on a specific task, eg a school trip)
- Roby Sixth Form College
You should see the coursework as an opportunity to show your examiner exactly how capable you are. Every
document should be well written and well presented:
- Use a similar header for each page
- Use a footer which contains the drive and document name, so that you can always find each document. Make
sure the documents and files have sensible names
- Don't page number your first draft, just make sure you keep everything in order
- Annotate every screenshot
- Use the same font style and size (maximum size 12 - use a professional font eg not Comic Sans) on each document
- Use Control and Enter to page-break
